Break The Conditioning And Embrace!

Ayyo, Ayyapa, Amma, Appa were alien words to me when I came to Bangalore. Over the years, I tried my best to adopt this culture, language and the cultural diversity. I tried every possible cuisine with the same love as I had for typical north Indian food. Food of North Karnataka, South Karnataka, Kerala, TN, you ask me and I would say, yes I know how it tastes. I tried to be less reluctant to all the new things.

One thing I learnt, you need to break the conditioning to grow and to accept- be it people or culture. They all have one thing common, the language of love. And this is what I always look for.
My kids are pakka South-Indian ( I proudly say this)…these alien words are common to them. Often they call me Amma, Ayyo is always the most used word and of course the love for Idli-Sambhar which I can never compare. This is utmost. But I accept them the way they are getting into a new culture, its all acceptance and nothing else!!
